The Bikes
Graham and I each own a Kawasaki KLR650. Graham’s is a fairly new 2004 model, while mine is a ‘91 with 42000 k’s on it. Between January and June my bike will be undergoing a full strip and rebuild to get it into round-the-world shape. I’ve grown to love the simplicity of a single-cylinder thumper. It’s got loads of torque at low revs, does well on off-road tracks and is quite happy at 120km/h on tar roads too. The KLR is very reliable and pretty strong - so we have faith that they’ll get us home!
